An important part of Rosewood Services is community
involvement. Rosewood clients celebrate their individual rights of
self-determination and are actively encouraged to vote and otherwise
participate in the community. Clients volunteer for many community
events such as the Great Bend Christmas and Hoisington Labor Day
parades as well as other group activities.
Clients are actively involved in the life of their community, raising funds and collecting goods to help various non-profit organizations. Individuals have the opportunity to be involved with the Kiwanis Aktion Club, which encourages active community participation and contribution. The Rosewood Miracle Workers Aktion Club just received the state Distinguished Service Award for its sterling achievements! (See related article under “Featured Stories” section o f our website!) Clients develop leadership skills and the satisfaction of achieving personal and service goals. The goal of Rosewood Services and the Aktion Club is to demonstrate the dignity and value of people living with disabilities, while involving them in new and exciting community participation. Individuals participate in church and educational opportunities, as well.
