The Christian Women’s Fellowship group of Larned donated $100 to Rosewood’s Roots & Wings Foundation, which was used to purchase Christmas-dinner groceries for the clients.
Rosewood Ranch, along with Rosewood Services Inc.’s Greenhouse, will appear in episode 722 of America’s Heartland, the final episode of season seven for the show.
Vanessa Diaz edged out two of her co-workers to earn the “Shining Star of the Year” award from Rosewood Services Inc. for 2011. Also awarded as honorable-mention selections were employees Erika Julian and Mallory Osuwah.
Six employees from Rosewood Services Inc. were honored for a combined 35 years of dedication during the business’s annual celebration early this month. Five employees celebrated five-year anniversaries, while Rosewood Ranch Manager Eric Hammond achieved 10 years with the agency.
The weather says differently, but inside the Rosewood Service Inc. Greenhouse it’s still tomato-growing season. In its first full year of operation, the Greenhouse is filled to capacity with 265 tomato plants producing two varieties – brand names Celebrity and Truss. Their success is dependent upon a few dozen clients at Rosewood who work to care for and grow the tomatoes and then bring them to market.
For the fifth straight year, Rosewood Furniture Gallery was transformed into a showplace of warm holiday cheer in an effort to help the Great Bend Beautification Committee raise funds to improve the community. The Holiday Tables Spectacular fund-raiser was held Nov. 6 at the Gallery.
Custom horsehair pottery is the art of firing pottery, then using a special technique to burn in hair from the tail of the horse immediately after the piece is removed from the kiln. The hair is consumed by fire and it twists and turns to create unique lines and marks throughout each piece.
A steady rain and an unexpected change of venue threw a hitch in plans, but those set-backs didn’t prevent the 7th Annual Rosewood Rodeo from being successful. Thirty two clients from Rosewood Services Inc. competed Oct. 8 in front of their friends and families at the Rosewood Ranch, located a few miles east of Pawnee Rock.
Enjoy a signature sandwich, soup or a salad for dinner on the 5th of any month, at Treaders and you’ll be helping a worthy cause. The Great Bend restaurant, located at 1309 Main St., is teaming with Rosewood Services Inc. to offer this fundraiser for the organization’s Roots & Wings Foundation.
Seven Rosewood clients competed in the National Snaffle Bit Association World Horse Show, held in Tulsa Aug. 17-21 at the Built Ford Tough Expo Complex in Tulsa. The event included riders representing top therapeutic riding programs from across the United States. All Rosewood riders medaled, bringing home five top-10 finishes in horsemanship and four top-10 finishes in trail pattern.
Four Great Bend golfers, sponsored by Rosewood Services Inc., won the second flight of the 15th Annual Kansas Special Olympics Benefit Golf Tournament, held early this month at Turkey Creek Golf Course in McPherson.
Rosewood Services Inc. recognized four of its standout staff members for the summer quarter “Shining Stars Award.” Rosewood employees Deb Smith, Vickie Booze, Andrea Ehrlich and Mallory Osuwah received the distinguished quarterly honor for their good work. 
Rosewood Ranch, located north of Pawnee Rock, is a 210-acre full-working horse ranch that offers equestrian and therapeutic riding classes to those with developmental disabilities. The ranch serves 45 adults from Rosewood Services Inc. and offers free services to more than 40 children on a weekly basis. Those who advance as independent riders experience the thrill of competition as they interact with others at horse shows across the state throughout the summer.
